Crafting Your Dream Space:

Our Process

Initial Consultation:

The first step in our design & remodeling process is to schedule a meet in our showroom to understand your vision, discuss the project scope, and budget. We will be happy to answer your questions, walk you through the various types of cabinetry, countertops, flooring, etc., and show the difference between framed and frameless style cabinetry. We will discuss product possibilities in your budget range. If you are confident that Brown’s Home Remodeling is the right remodeling company for you, then we can complete an initial retainer and get the design process started right away.

In-Home Consultation and Design Preview:

We need to understand your home, bathroom, or kitchen as it is now. Our team will schedule an in-home consultation to measure your space. While on-site, our showroom discussions continue. What do you love and what do you dislike about the space? How do you envision the space changed? Communication is key- we will make notes of your concerns and desires to make the process easy.

Design Preview:

We will meet in the showroom to present a preliminary 3D design of your space, showing samples of cabinet door styles & colors, floor materials, backsplash materials, fixture finish and selection, lighting, etc. Review the project amount and any adjustments desired in the design and selections.

Finalization and Implementation:

We meet to discuss and look at the layout adjustments to the design, finalize the project amount & the balance of the retainer, sign off for the project, and then move forward to order the required materials. We will get the start date with timeline for the project set up with you as well.

Your Questions

Answered

Q: How long does the remodeling process take?

A: Most projects are completed in less than a month once started. Of course, every project is unique. During the design process, we’ll talk about the timeline.

Q: What do I need to do to prepare for a project?

A: We’ll guide you through the necessary preparations at your consultation. We do all we can to make everything as easy for you as possible.

Q: Do you include appliances in your projects?

A: We are happy to refer clients to a trusted local appliance business that will serve you well!

Q: Is there a design fee?

A: No, our design services are integrated into the overall project cost.

Q: What warranty do you offer?

A: We choose materials for their quality and durability and work with reputable brands. Since we have such an extensive selection of products available, we’re happy to discuss warranties individually at your design consultation.

Q: Do we have to relocate while our remodel is taking place?

A: For the majority of our projects, our clients remain in the home throughout the project.

Q: How messy will my project be?

A: Most projects do involve a little bit of dust, but our contractor will do their best to minimize it.

Q: Do we need to do demo work before cabinets are measured and ordered?

A: For most of our projects, we are able to measure accurately without needing to demo before the cabinets arrive. This saves you time and makes the transition a lot easier.

Q: Do I get a 3D rendering and project layouts?

A: Yes. Once we have the sign off for the project with retainer, we will print or email you PDF copies.

Q: Is It Better To Reface Or just Replace Kitchen Cabinets?

A: While updating your kitchen cabinets by refacing & replacing the doors and drawer fronts is less expensive than replacing them, the money you save may not justify the end result. Approximately 70% of the cost of a cabinet comes from the cabinet door. This means, in most cases, it may be worth just spending the additional 30% for brand-new cabinets.

Q: What do I need to do to prepare for my kitchen remodel?

A: Remove all items out of the cabinets, on top of the countertops, and remove décor or any other items on the walls near the project room, to create a safe working space. Also, ensure pets cannot get in the way during the remodel process.

Q: Will I have any access to the kitchen during the remodel – ie: can I use my sink?

A: This depends on the scope of the remodel. If we are doing a complete remodel and replacing all the cabinets, our clients usually set up a small “camping style” kitchen in another part of the house. If we are just doing countertops, you will have access to the cabinets but not the sink.

Q: What do I need to do to prepare for my bathroom remodel?

A: We recommend you set up any secondary bathroom as your main bathroom, remove personal items, remove decor, and create a safe working space. Also, ensure pets cannot get in the way during the remodel process. If you only have one bathroom, we will order a porta potty for the duration of the remodel.

Q: Once the design is finalized, can I make any changes? How does it affect the final cost of my remodel?

A: Changes can always be made before the cabinets are ordered and may incur additional design fees. Once construction has commenced may result in increasing the costs and longer duration of construction.

Q: Can I consult and hire Brown’s Home remodeling to design my project only?

A: Not at this time. We design and supply the materials for the entire project.

Q: What are some inexpensive projects I can do to update my kitchen without having to redo all the cabinets in the kitchen?

A: Update your countertops, sink, faucet, cabinet decorative hardware, tile backsplash, or flooring

Q: Will remodeling a kitchen add value to my home?

A: While there is no doubt remodeling your kitchen will improve the value of your home, there is some debate on just how much value it will add. Improving your home in any way will likely add value, but because the kitchen is such a focal point of your home, it’s usually the place to get the most value for your money.

Q:  How much will it cost to remodel our kitchen?

A: Kitchens are like most anything else that you purchase: the costs are entirely dependent on the price of the materials selected and the overall design. It is good to keep in mind that a remodeled kitchen is an investment that will increase the value of your home. We offer many different cabinet lines to meet your project budget and give you the best design we can within your budget.

Q: Are your services limited to kitchens and baths?

A: We can design and provide cabinetry for all the rooms in your home-Entertainment Centers, Bookcases, Closets, coffee nook & beverage center/Bars, Laundry Rooms, Outdoor Kitchens and more.

Q: What if I want to purchase just the cabinets?

A: You can purchase the cabinets only. We would work with you on the layout, color selections, design the project, confirm the measurements, and order the cabinetry.

Q: If I have a small budget, will you do my kitchen?

A: Yes, of course. We carry a full line of cabinetry and flooring that can meet most budgets.

Q: Do you have any samples of your work?

A: You can view photos of our work on our Instagram, where we showcase a variety of the kitchens, baths, and other rooms we’ve designed. Connect with us there to explore our portfolio and get inspired for your own space!

Q: What if I have an interior decorator I am working with, and I want you to supply the cabinetry?

A: Yes, we can work with you and your decorator. We will need a design scope or plan so we can work from there.

Q: When is the best time to remodel my home?

A: Many homeowners decide to remodel their kitchen or bathrooms in the warmer weather months. However, this can make it more difficult to stick to a specific timeframe and access high demand materials. Here at Brown’s Home Remolding, we can do projects year round.

Q: How much should I budget for my remodeling project?

A: Budgeting for a remodel of a kitchen or bathroom depends on a lot of factors. Call us to schedule an initial consultation to help you have a realistic idea of the total cost for the project.

Q: Can I remodel my entire kitchen and bathroom or do it in stages?

A: If you are looking to remodel your entire kitchen or bathroom, it is recommend to do everything at once. This allows for a seamless transition. However, if budget or timeline requires you to do the remodeling project in stages, we can consult with you on the best way to proceed.

Q: Can I just purchase flooring or tile materials?

A: Yes. If you have your flooring layout with measurements, we can give you a bid and order the materials only.

Q: Do you offer design only without the purchase of materials?

A: No. Our design time and expertise are integrated into the project.
